Progress Report = AMAZING!
The first skin graft using the Apligraf has worked wonders on the condition of the wound. Her progress is astounding in my view and excellent according to the doctor. The crater has filled in almost completely and the covering (epidural layers) are quite evident. We will have a much better idea in two weeks whether or not an additional Apligraf application is needed. Mo is holding up pretty well, the only downside being the pain in her hip, leg and knee (caused most likely by the inability to put weight on her right foot) has been excruciating. We are hopeful that as the healing process continues she will be able to resume a more normal mode of walking which should help the situation immensely.
On another note, we experienced our first night with below freezing temperatures last night (24 degrees) without incident. Looks like my winter preps worked! Stay tuned for more Devil Bug updates as they occur >>>
