We are pleased to report that the visual exam today shows considerably more new tissue growing in the wound area. The doctor removed the wound vac until Monday to give her foot and especially the remaining healthy skin a chance to rest from all the tape and such. He also has stopped the Vancomycin antibiotic and is continuing treatment with an oral antibiotic which is great since it means we do not have to go to the hospital twice a day anymore for injections. We still go daily for a wound dressing change but it's in the morning and easy to manage.
So, for those of you that have been interested in the photographic sequence of this event, I have the "One Month" picture available. It really shows the progress and new tissue growth very well. Just e-mail me with a note to send the pic and I will do so. I don't include it in the updates since I don't want to gross-out those who do not tolerate graphic exhibits well but I will respond to all who ask.
